Housing Rights and Responsibility Form

Now don't get confused. The four of us in Bailey are trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Wait, that is the boyscout laws. Well, take out the last two and we form some sort of brotherhood anyways -but nothing like a fraternity- maybe the opposite.

In other words, we highly value community, respect our community, and rely on it. It simply cannot be written down on four pages. We are all capable of confronting each other about problems (and we certainly do,) so we decided to have a little fun. Plus this thing has spelling errors and the most bizarre categories.

Shrines

I have been exploring various types of shrines throughout Bailey. Below is part of Anthony's shrine.

My friend Elliot, currently traveling in India, met up with my friend Shannon and gave her a shirt that did not fit him. Check out the fabric. This is almost Mr. Murray level, and with my ceramics class I have this eery feeling of being doomed to become like him.

This is my shrine. Although this photo is blurry I really like it. I acquired two more figures as a gift from Shannon. The closest is a mysterious Buddha that seems to be in a burmese style. Then there is my Buddha in the center, and in the distance is the other gift from Shannon, a giant Ganesh figure.

Bailey.

I have moved into a Cabin out at Pine Lake called Bailey. Bailey is a 34 year post and beam building that has a lot of windows. It's heated mostly by a pellet stove that smokes more than it makes flames. So far we have seen around -9ºF, or -22.7ºC for my friends over seas. I afraid to say we will probably get colder this weekend. Bailey does not act well around those temperatures. Never the less, sleeping on the second floor ensures I am always warm if not sweating.

I am realizing everything has names around here. This is Baxter, Brié's car. Yes it runs well, and yes it is very loud inside. I sometimes can't believe I live with someone who's dream car was an original VW purple bug back to the age of 15. It's kind of awesome, I think.

Zoë hung out for a couple of days to play the banjo and sit in on my eastern philosophy of consciousness class.
