The newest building at Pine Lake, Straw Bale, was completed in 2008. It is indeed made of bales of straw covered in mud, which is very energy efficient. It also has a ton of beautiful recycled wood. Students are not allowed to live in it, but traveling professors usually stay here when they visit. We use it a lot for tea, meditation, and book discussions.
