The Fish Ladder

A dam less than a mile up the river from Sparhawk Mill has an interesting fish ladder. Maybe the barbed-wire was a warning. Maybe it made things a bit more fun.

Fish are suppose to be able to use this ladder in order to get around the dam and make babies.

It is a climb.

The fish must also make a sharp turn. I tried to climb into the water in order to get a picture like above, but I could not touch the bottom. I hung from a piece of cement instead.

Climbing around is a little risky. The whole ladder has something like a 20ft elevation gain.

Now this dam is made of cement and rocks. The water is pouring out between the rocks, really neat.
